Russian version

The Japanese brand Tenga has a recognizable style. Firstly, a unique, truly Japanese combination of laconic futurism and elegant traditional motives. Secondly, the absolute focus on the male audience. All the “feminine stuff” is taken over by the company's subsidiary brand, Iroha, and Tenga is honing the art of making masturbators.

This year Tenga turns 15 years old and I decided to take for ф review one of the early, but little-known models of the brand – the Delta mini vibrator. It seems to belong to the period when Tenga was looking for their way and checking to see if they could make a sex toy that was not designed to stimulate the penis. So, I wanted to know the answer to this question.

What is in the box?

Minimalistic is the word that describes Delta packaging: a plastic case that opens with one easy movement, and inside there is just a toy and a paper ins ert folded in half. But if many other sex products in similar packaging look cheap and generally unattractive, Delta, thanks to its design, looks technologically advanced – as if it belongs not in a sex shop, but in a computer store.

The ins ert contains a minimum of information duplicated in 5 languages (among which there is no Russian). But in general, there are enough illustrations: the toy is simple, and its handling is also simple. If you wish, you can scan the QR code and go to the site with extended English instructions.

Basic information

A distinctive feature of the Delta is the pivoting tip, which makes the vibrator look like a plastic thumb, especially when bent. The smooth plastic surface (the outer part of the toy is made of abs plastic, the inner part is polycarbonate) enhances this similarity. Taking care of the device is simple, but has its own specifics: the rotary mechanism and the one-piece case are waterproof, they can be washed under running water – but the cover under which the batteries are hidden should not get into the water. Wash the vibrator carefully and only its “working” half, for the rest of it is enough to wipe it with a damp cloth. By the way, Delta is convenient to dry when placed vertically so that the freshly washed surface does not touch anything.

Delta is powered by two AAA batteries, which should last for 6 hours of continuous use. ”Test” batteries are inserted in to it directly at the factory, and when they run out, they can be replaced with rechargeable batteries. When storing the batteries, it is worth pulling them out for if they leak, the device may fail.

Dimensions: height 11.2 cm, width 2-3.4 cm. Weight – 53 g.

Using

The lid rotation control is simple – in theory. In practice, this can be done only with both hands, and with the direction (where you rotate to switch it on, where to replace the batteries?) you get confused every now and then. Inconvenient. The fact that this is an excellent replacement for the control interlock system does not help.

The motor is weak, vibrations are small and superficial. There is only one mode. All this adds up to a very basic toy, which should be singled out as an auxiliary role rather than a main one: for example, in the “curved” version, Delta is more convenient to use to stimulate the clitoris during penetrative sex, but that's all. Thanks to the shape of the gadget, you can achieve both a point and a fairly extensive impact, and it can be inserted shallowly in to the vagina.

It seems that there is not much noise from Delta, ~ 40 dB, but you expect quieter operation from such a baby. The vibration tone aggravates the matter – quite high and, frankly, annoying. The vibrator, alas, seems to be louder than it actually is.

Who it is for

Delta is suitable for those who need moderate stimulation, those who are indifferent to the sounds that the toy makes, and those who are looking for a technological device that does not suggest sex at all.

It is hardly suitable for those who want deep vibrations, or looking for a multifunctional sex gadget.

Total

An early-stage experiment with an interesting idea, but it is rather a failure overall.
